After priming, Tig painted the dining room. I helped with the trim during the weekend. I went with the usual Devine Vanilla for the walls and Devine Icing for the trim.

Then, in a stroke of genius, we decided to rewire the circuit prior to hanging the crystal chandelier (after we had already painted). By the time the chandelier was in, we had spent the whole day cutting holes for the three way dimmer switch, fishing wire, re-worked the circut so future sconces had their own light switch, and upgraded the butler’s pantry light from a pull chain to a regular light switch. And we were both cranky at night.

Here’s a picture of the hookups to sconces. The previous owner tapped the live wires and capped the opening with a metal coverplate. Tig wired them to a switch, cleaned up the wires and capped them for safety.

Our chandelier, finally in place. More on the fixture later.
