I love reading about the crazy things people find - left over from the previous owners - I read with envy, such “Antiques Roadshow” material. HouseinProgress found a red Royal typewriter. While we were not recipients of such treasured items, we did manage to rapidly accumulate a record collection. To start with, Tig had a seed collection of records left over from his college days.

Record collection

When we met with the previous owner last March, we told them it was okay to leave behind a few things that they didn’t want to take with them, so long as they felt we could use them, or find them interesting. They were true to their word and left behind two boxes of records - one box of large and one box of smaller singles.

So where did the third box come from, you might ask. Well, last summer, while walking home from town, Tig spied a box of records lying out on the curb. We looked at each other, and then at the box. No one was guarding it, and it was clearly out for trash pickup. We quickly picked it up and walked the rest of the way home.

Now, we’re not sure where this record came from…

John Williams record

But how cool is that? John Williams conducting Star Wars for the Boston Pops.

On the other hand, we also have three Sound of Music LPs. Not sure how that happened…
